These are the most commonly performed ceremonies. Should
you have special requests, please feel free to contact us.
Attended Ceremony - Up to 6 family members or
friends may
accompany the remains to the Sea Burial.
- Family or friends may read a short passage, prayer or conduct memorial as the ashes are
scattered.
- If desired, the Captain will administer a few words
of your choosing or from traditional sea burial rites.
- Friends or family may bring flowers or petals to disperse
along with the ashes.
Unattended Ceremony - Family and friends
do not attend this
ceremony.
- The cremated remains are shipped to us with the completed
Authorization Form after having scheduled the event with Blue Pacific Ashes
at Sea.
- Upon receiving the remains, the Captain will scatter them
over the open sea with flower petals.
- The Captain will issue a
Certificate of Burial.
- The scattering site will be recorded by way of
latitude & longitude. This information will be documented in
the Certificate of Burial should you wish to revisit the site.
Observe from Shore - Family and friends may choose this option
if they do not wish to accompany the remains on the vessel, yet would still like
to be a part of the burial event.
- Standing atop the Palos Verdes cliffs, family and friends
may observe the ceremony performed in the waters below by the Captain.
- The Captain will perform the same items as in the
Unattended Ceremony.
